4. Content Knowledge
When preparing to teach any lesson, I ensure that I master the knowledge of the content and am familiar with the following vocabulary just to help me overall help build the knowledge for my students. I start by viewing the lesson through the eyes of the student's perspective. As a student myself, I like to start off with an example so students are able to view a replica before performing a task. If I am not using anchor charts, I like to use google slides to help create visuals where students are able to see visuals. I like to incorporate fun Bitmojis as well as color coordinates to help with organization. I like to ensure that I start off by displaying an example and breaking apart the content piece by piece before I present any form of questions or assessment. When it comes to providing any sort of supplementary handouts or worksheets to start the lesson I like to ensure that students are walked through at least one example before starting a form of practice.
